Metas vitales en estudiantes argentinos

Resumen

Se presentan los resultados de un trabajo empírico en el que, en una muestra de 475 estudiantes en el rango de 17 a 55 años, se aplicó el Cuestionario de metas de Nurmi (1989b), con los objetivos de explorar diferencias en el contenido, densidad, extensión temporal y nivel de planificación de metas vitales en función de la edad, el sexo, el nivel de escolarización y el tipo de carrera y verificar las posibles interacciones entre las variables dependientes y los factores demográficos mencionados. Los resultados muestran la contribución de cada uno de los factores en la explicación de los patrones de metas, organizados en tres conglomerados que reflejan el peso relativo de lo dado y lo adquirido, diferencias ligadas a la naturaleza y diferencias de orden socio-cultural. Se confrontan los resultados con los de otros trabajos sobre el tema, indicando en cada caso las concordancias y las diferencias. Los factores que más pesan e interactúan son la edad y el sexo. El resultado que se considera más relevante es la relación hallada entre la extensión de la perspectiva temporal y la cualidad en el contenido de las metas. Se indican como limitaciones del trabajo condiciones restrictivas en la conformación de la muestra.
