Business leadership in today’s world: a matter of virtues
Keywords:
BUSINESS LEADERSHIP, VIRTUE, BUSINESS ETHICS, BUSINESS VOCATION, MANAGEMENTAbstract
The author centers her article in what she considers the practical dimension of business leadership, as proposed by the pontifical document: to act according to virtue. She notes the importance the pontifical document gives to fundamental virtues in the development of the common good, in the context of business ethics, that goes beyond a mere code of behavior. The virtuous life flourishes when the human being discovers his/her true vocation and assumes it in every single one of his/her actions. The article shows the qualities of this virtue, and the reasons why the business culture should find its root in it.
