The University Reform, and the reformist movement in general, became an anchor of reference in Argentine political, cultural and intellectual life from its origins, giving rise to a rich historiographical elaboration on the subject. However, in the context of that subject, the action of the communists in that dynamic was less specifically dealt with, despite having obtained a certain relevance in that milieu. In response to this gap, this article analyses the transformations in the discourse and repertoires of action of the Communist Party of Argentina (CP) in the university student movement in its links with the University Reform and the reformist tradition during the 1930s. It highlights how the CP, which since the late 1920s had been strongly critical of that tradition, changed its approach after the implementation of the Popular Front policy in 1935.
