The Case Caligula: a recurrent attempt of diagnosis
Keywords:
Caligula, diagnosis, madness, illness, historiographyAbstract
This work approach the image that classical sources and modern historiography bequeathed about Lucius Septimius Severus. To do that, we must keep in mind that the first emperor of the Severan dynasty is usually characterized historiographically as a soldier-emperor or even as a barbarian-emperor. It is convenient to ask ourselves: What did the authors of the second century and following write about this emperor? And we even question whether the hegemonic historiographic vision that exists is unequivocal.
