Hablar y escribir en los Proverbios Morales de Sem Tob

Abstract

This paper aims to study a selection of paremias belonging to the Moral Proverbs by Rabbi Sem Tob, a fourteenth century author. These proverbs focus on the processes of speaking and writing as transmitters of knowledge. From their interpretation within a context of insertion, we shall analyze the whole work and verify how each element points to an objective previously set by the author in the preface. The presentation of key concepts, through images of the paremiological area, installs Rabbi Sem Toba as a leading author of his time.
