Resumen

Con ocasión de la celebración de los 1700 años del Concilio de Nicea (325), y a partir de los temas que han sido propuestos para una profundización histórica y teológica del primer concilio ecuménico, el autor se detiene en la importancia y la vigencia de la fe nicena. En vista de ello, la presentación procede en cuatro momentos: el reconocimiento del Símbolo niceno-constantinopolitano en las diferentes tradiciones cristianas; el modo en que esto se ha hecho presente en los diálogos teológicos interconfesionales que han tenido lugar en las últimas décadas; el aporte del estudio de la Comisión de Fe y Constitución sobre una explicación ecuménica del Símbolo niceno-constantinopolitano; y, por último, la suficiencia o no de lo que se confiesa en el símbolo para establecer la plena unidad en la fe entre los cristianos. Como conclusión, se señala el valor de algunos elementos de la reciente labor ecuménica, así como los desafíos a responder en el presente al tenerse en cuenta los cambios producidos en la configuración del mundo cristiano.

El autor es Profesor Ordinario Titular de la Facultad de Teología de la Pontificia Universidad Católica Argentina, y Profesor en el Centro de Estudios de Filosofía y Teología de la Orden de Predicadores (Universidad del Norte Santo Tomás de Aquino, Buenos Aires).
