Abstract

Pope Francis has proposed the mission as a paradigm for the renewal of the Church. The author takes this invitation as a starting point and suggests reflecting upon the importance of this matter in some theological issues. Not only must the urgency of the mission modify pastoral work, but also theological language, for words and actions are strongly linked. God, Jesus Christ, man, culture and the ethical consequences of missionary transformation are the topics discussed in this article. If, as Francis states, the mission cannot leave things the way they are, then theology must be questioned by the evangelizing task and evangelization must be nurtured by a theology that speaks well of God and man.
