Resumo

This articles offers reflections about de “argumentative force” (M. Cano) of human history in theology. First, it presents the current state of the debate, without further progress after the conciliar debates. Second, it highlights the fundamental question: what kind of authority theology recognizes to historical events discerned in the Spirit. Third, it offers an approach on its development in Latin America, region where this type of methodology had greater progress, but not without controversy. Finally, it places this contribution in the context of other works, outlines a list of theological contents that favor this perspective and stresses the importance of these ideas for the development of the doctrine of the Church and the theological thought.
