Pedro Oeyen, Esclavos en San Isidro: una verdad escondida (Martínez: Maizal Ediciones, 2022), 180 pp.
Abstract
Pedro Oeyen addresses the issue of slavery in colonial times in San Isidro, through the analysis of a little-explored source: the local parish records. Through this approach, the author manages to offer a detailed and rigorous look at the slave population in this region of Hispanic America before 1810. It is a subject that continues to arouse the interest of researchers and readers. Proof of this are the publications of recent years, some focused on a specific region and others with a more comprehensive general view.Downloads
