Frondizi y Eisenhower, ¿relación amistosa o incierta?
Keywords:
Frondizi, Eisenhower, International relations, United States of AmericaAbstract
The access to Centro de Estudios Nacionales (CEN), personal archive of Arturo Frondizi, has provided new documentation on his presidency (1958-1962) of great relevance, considering that the archive of the Argentine Chan cellery has none. We chose to study the relations with the United States, particularly during Eisenhower administration. The article examines the change in foreign policy that Frondizi implemented to strengthen the Argentine position in international field. Argentina would stay with the West countries, promote multilateralism and cultivate good relations with the United States. The underlying and main objective of this foreign policy was to improve national development. The article is focused in Frondizi’s visit to the United States –the first of an Argentine president– and the visit of Eisenhower to Argentina in his trip to South America.
