Abstract

Short after receiving a PHD in Law from the University of Buenos Aires, Estanislao S. Zeballos joined the revolution leaded by general Bartolomé Mitre in 1874 against president Nicolás Avellaneda. He then became secretary of the commander in chief with the rank of captain. During the campaign, he wrote his memories of his childhood in the city of Rosario and his student days in the Colegio Nacional, as well as a description of the political athmosphere during the 1868 elections.
