La participación política de los intelectuales durante la transición democrática: el Grupo Esmeralda y el presidente Alfonsín
Keywords:
Intellectuals, Alfonsín, Transition, DemocracyAbstract
This article analyses the relationship established between a group of leftist intellectuals and the radical president Raul Alfonsín during the democratic transition in Argentina. We will describe firstly the theoretical displacements of the intellectual left marked by the Mexican exile, and then the characteristics of the cultural field in the democratic transition in the eighties, focusing in the production of the intellectuals linked to the review Punto de Vista and the Club of Socialist Culture. Finally, we will analyse the relationship between president Alfonsín and the intellectuals of this renewed left, focusing on the ethical and political dilemmas that they had to face. The construction of meaning about a political character, where the intellectuals saw the possibility of becoming a modern socialdemocratic leader, is the hypothesis of the study following the theories of Pierre Bourdieu.
