Pax alphonsina: El ideal de imperium y el conocimiento en algunos textos alfonsíes

Abstract

The ideal of imperium contained in the works written in Alfonso X’s scriptorium, is not merely a political or military conception, but also a cultural one. Some aspects of this ideal are the kingly knowledge for good government (imperator literatus), and ecumenism (pax alphonsina) conceived as a peaceful way of valuing the alien cultures (Jews and Muslims), and adopting its elements.
