Abstract

This paper deals again with two issues already studied in earlier articles: the didactic character of the chronicle and the author’s veiled self-referentiality. We take into account some minor but incisive observations, with which the author highlights his appreciation of the narrated facts. But we consider specially a passage in which, besides its didactic content, there is a very elegant reference to a decisive diplomatic intervention of his. Here we find a case which is analogous to his role in the courts of Guadalajara during the reign of Juan I.
