Author Guidelines

Authors guidelines

1. Conditions of acceptance

The journal of philosophy Tábano is an open academic publication, which receives works from authors from our University, as well as from other institutions, both national and foreign. At the same time, as a student publication, it dedicates a space to articles by students of the Faculty of Philosophy and Literature, thus contributing to the insertion of students in the academic and research world.

Philosophical works will be accepted in the form of academic articles, lectures, papers and book reviews, as well as philosophical reflections of a personal nature. The Editor will judge the convenience of other formats in extraordinary situations.Contributions must be in Spanish or English or be susceptible of being translated into these languages.

Submissions must be original and unpublished, meaning they must not have been previously published in peer-reviewed journals or other formal publications. However, manuscripts that have been presented as conference papers or talks (but not published) are accepted, as well as those previously deposited in preprint servers (such as SocArXiv or SSRN). In such cases, authors must clearly indicate the repository where the preprint was shared. Authors are also encouraged to disseminate their preprints through these platforms. Exceptions to these requirements may be made for authors specially invited by the Editorial Committee, in recognition of their academic excellence and prestige.

The authors of the articles published in the journal Tábano concede their rights to the publisher, on a non-exclusive basis, to incorporate the digital version of the same to the Institutional Repository "Digital Library of the Catholic University of Argentina" as well as to other databases considered to be of academic relevance. Tábano does not charge any fee for the publication of articles.

2. Basic format for submission

Please submit an ANONYMIZED copy in electronic format (MS Word or compatible) through the platform.

The submission must be formatted according to this model.

For citation style and bibliographic references, we adhere to APA standards (7th edition).

Datasets are research outputs that, like articles and books, should be properly cited. Correct citation facilitates identification, validation, reuse, and supports scientific transparency. In APA style, datasets should be included in the reference list and, when appropriate, mentioned in the main text. The recommended format is as follows:

Last Name, Initial(s). (Year). Title of the dataset [Dataset]. Name of the repository. URL or DOI

Example:

Pérez, J. (2023). Datos climáticos de Argentina 2023 [Dataset]. Consejo Nacional de Investigaciones Científicas y Técnicas. https://ri.conicet.gov.ar/handle/11336/256789

The main body of the article should be between 5,000 and 9,500 words (including abstract and keywords).

Reviews must cover recent publications (from the last three years) and should not exceed 2,500 words.

Articles must include an English translation of the title and an abstract of 100 to 150 words, provided in both Spanish and English.

Please suggest four or five keywords that reflect the main topics of the article, in both Spanish and English.

In a separate file, include the author’s name, contact email, ORCID, and institutional affiliations (up to two). Additionally, a brief curriculum vitae in paragraph format should be included, as it will be appended to the article.

Authors must specify their specific contribution to the article using the CRediT (Contributor Roles Taxonomy), available at: https://hdlab.space/taxonomia/?q=CRediT. This taxonomy aims to clarify and give credit to all roles involved in a research project throughout the entire process. It acknowledges the work of all individuals participating in the project and highlights not only the results but also the processes. This information must be included in the short Curriculum Vitae attached to the article.
