The forgetting of the human being: the Husserlian vision of the crisis of the twentieth century.

Abstract

The founder of Phenomenology, Edmund Husserl, was one of the great critics of contemporary reality and its apparent scientific success. He lived the paradoxes of the XX century: a century which was the most advanced in terms of scientific-technical development and, at the same time, the bloodiest and one of the darkest of human history: how is this contradiction possible? Husserl ´s answer is that a process of cultural decline, which had already been forged, simply burst. The purpose of this paper is to analyze the way in which Husserl characterizes this crisis, whose main reason is the “forgetfulness of the human nature”: a crisis and a loss of its own sense. So that, in order to solve this crisis, there is no other way than deepening the study of human nature and reestablish the profound sense of this concept and its implication for humanity.
