About the Journal

Subject Matter and Scope

Teología is published every four months (April, August and December) by the Faculty of Theology of the Pontifical Catholic University of Buenos Aires. The journal is aimed at researchers, teachers and students of higher education. It offers unpublished articles on Theology and related disciplines. It receives contributions resulting from the research of the teachers of the Faculty and other unpublished texts of external collaborators, with scientific level, that respond to the profile of this publication.

Peer review process

Peer review protocol (double blind) and evaluation of originals.

The Editorial Secretariat of Teología, in order to improve the transparency of the evaluation process of articles and essays, believes it is necessary for authors and evaluators to know the steps that, from the arrival of the original to an eventual final acceptance, the submitted works go through.

Initial evaluation: The documents received will undergo a double initial review, one for content and the other for form or style. First, the original papers will be reviewed by the editors or other specialists of the Editorial Board. This review consists of discerning their originality, relevance and scientific interest, in order to decide whether or not to submit them for external review.

In order not to overload our external reviewers, Teología reserves the possibility of rejecting papers in advance, providing the reasons for the case. In the event that the Journal dispenses with external evaluation, the author will be notified within thirty days from the acknowledgement of receipt of the manuscript.

Second, in order to correct errors before reaching the external evaluation stage, the Editorial Secretariat makes a preliminary correction of styles. For this reason, authors may receive a revised version of the text or be consulted to solve doubts.

In all cases, only versions that have the author's approval will be sent for external review. Teología will only initiate the review process for papers that comply with the Guidelines for Authors.

The authors are responsible for the adaptation of the originals to the norms of the Journal.

External evaluation: If the initial review is positive, Teología will submit the manuscript to a "double-blind" external evaluation process. The aim is to maintain the anonymity of the referee and the author, and the results will be disclosed exclusively to the interested party.

Teología undertakes to keep confidential not only the identity of the author, but also the contents of the text under revision.

The evaluation of papers does not imply any commitment of acceptance.

Only after receiving the opinion of the external evaluation, Teología will make a decision on its eventual publication. The Journal does not publish papers that have not been approved by the review process. The external evaluation will rule on the submitted papers according to the following categories:

1) Accept submission.
2) Revisions are needed (modifications are suggested before publication).
3) Re-submit for review (reword the paper or make major changes and initiate a new round of review).
4) Forward to another site (the article is not suitable for our journal).
5) Reject the submission.

Teología urges its reviewers to review the manuscripts in a period of four to six weeks; this will allow for a final decision in less than three months from the communication to the authors of the submission for full review of the manuscript.

Once the evaluation process is completed, the authors will receive the final response from the Journal, accompanied by the anonymous comments made by the referees.

Acceptance and acceptance with recommendations: If the reviews by anonymous specialists are favorable, the manuscript will usually be accepted, conditional on the author considering the comments and doubts proposed in the reviews.

Only very occasionally is a manuscript accepted without requiring at least certain minimal revisions.

Conditional acceptance: If the anonymous peer reviewers' reviews require the author to incorporate the indicated corrections, the author should submit a corrected version before proceeding to a second round of external review. If the opinions of the reviewers regarding the acceptance or rejection of the manuscript diverge in the second round, the opinion of a third external reviewer will be sought.

Exchange between evaluator and author: In case authors and evaluators wish to contact each other, Teología will carry out the communication with the due protection of anonymity.

This exchange will only occur with the approval of both parties.

Proofreading of articles accepted for publication: Authors may be requested to correct proofs, which must be returned within 72 hours.

Substantial changes in the proofs will not be allowed, being limited to the correction of errors with respect to the accepted version.

Publicación cuatrimestral que edita tres números en los meses de abril, agosto y diciembre, conformando un volumen anual 

Política de preservación digital

Los documentos ingresados a la revista son resguardados para su preservación en una carpeta master alojada en el servidor del Repositorio Institucional UCA. Además la Universidad realiza un backup dentro de su Data Center y suma una réplica en DC externo

Política de detección de plagio

El procedimiento de control de plagio de Teología involucra las siguientes etapas:

• En las instrucciones a los autores es manifiesta la exigencia de originalidad de los trabajos presentados.
• A la par, la presentación de trabajos inéditos es un requisito excluyente de aceptación de originales.
• Se exige también a los autores la mención explícita de las fuentes en todas las citas, de acuerdo con las normas de la revista.
• Una vez recibidos, los trabajos pasan por el control del software anti-plagio "Similarity" de Turnitin.
• En caso de detectar cualquier rastro de plagio o autoplagio, los artículos serán rechazados y se notificará al autor.

Código de conducta y buenas prácticas

La revista Teología adhiere al Código de conducta y buenas prácticas establecido por el Comitee on Publication Ethics (COPE). De acuerdo con este Código, los editores son responsables de todo el contenido publicado en su revista y, por lo tanto, se comprometen a:

• Esforzarse por satisfacer las necesidades de sus lectores y autores.
• Procurar la mejora continua de la revista.
• Disponer de procesos para asegurar la calidad del material que publican.
• Defender la libertad de expresión.
• Mantener la integridad académica del contenido publicado.
• Evitar que cuestiones comerciales comprometan estándares intelectuales y éticos.
• Publicar correcciones, aclaraciones, retractaciones y disculpas cuando sea necesario.

Tasa por envío y publicación de artículos (APC)

La revista Teología no cobra tarifas por envío de artículos o por el proceso de publicación (revisión, maquetación, impresión y distribución). Al ser una revista de acceso abierto tampoco se cobra tarifa por su consulta y descarga.

Historia de la revista

La revista TEOLOGIA nace en octubre de 1962 con el  objetivo de ser medio de expresión de profesores e investigadores de la Facultad de Teología y en general de las corrientes de la Teología de la Iglesia Latinoamericana. Decía el P. Lucio Gera en la Presentación del primer número:

"Un teólogo debe hablar y hacerse escuchar. El es maestro. Una Facultad es escuela, y el teólogo en este sentido, un "escolástico".... Todo esto arranca al teólogo de su desierto, de su silencio y su soledad, para convertirlo en un hombre con funciones públicas, habitante del centro de la ciudad, representando a una Iglesia que milita dentro de una cultura."

Preservación Digital

PKP Preservation Network

El contenido de la revista es preservado por la Red de Preservación de PKP (PKP Preservation Network / PKP PN) que proporciona servicios gratuitos de preservación digital para revistas alojadas en Open Journal Systems (OJS) mediante el programa LOCKSS.

LOCKSS & CLOCKSS

Los contenidos son archivados en LOCKSS (Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe) y CLOCKSS (Controlled Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe), a través de su integración con OJS, asegurando un archivo permanente y seguro.

LOCKSS y CLOKSS garantizan la preservación digital de manera descentralizada y distribuida, y aseguran el acceso a largo plazo de los contenidos publicados.

Archivado en el Repositorio Institucional

El contenido de Teología es depositado en el Repositorio Institucional de la Pontificia Universidad Católica Argentina asegurando que se realice la verificación de la integridad de los contenidos archivados. Además, se realiza una copia de seguridad en una carpeta master de preservación en la institución.

DOI (Digital Object Identifier)

Esta revista utiliza DOI como identificador persistente, gestionado en Crossref, que evita la pérdida de acceso a los contenidos en caso de modificarse la URL de la revista en el futuro.
