Everyday Eucharist for the Forgiveness of Sins
Keywords:
Eucharist, Sin, Forgiveness, AmbroseAbstract
The fact that the Eucharist “is not a prize for the perfect but a powerful medicine and
nourishment for the weak” has “pastoral consequences that we are called to consider
with prudence and boldness” (Evangelii Gaudium 47). Saint Ambrose’s Eucharistic
doctrine contributes to articulate these attitudes whithin the ecclesiatical dimension
and the ordo of the sacramental dynamism when, by means of a paradox, praises the
Eucharist as the forgiveness of sins while at the same time demands forgiveness in
order to receive it.
