Abstract

The collection organized by Paul for the poor Christians in Jerusalem is a theoretical and practical example of Christian mercy. That is why the article offers a double approach: on the one hand, the collection is placed in the broader context of other solidarity practices of antiquity; on the other hand, the underlying theology is deepened, according to 2 Corinthians 8-9.
