Resumo

The author of this article describes the circumstances surrounding the theft of the gold crown from the statue of the Virgin of Luján,which had been blessed by pope León XIII in 1887. It was stolen from the niche where it was venerated 10 years after the solemn pontifical coronation of this exquisite jewel made by the renowned parisian goldsmith Poussielgue-Rusand. The recovery and restitution of the crown motivated the organization of a multitudinous pilgrimage to the shrine of our Lady of Luján,as a demonstration of the profound devotion of the argentine people for it􀀀s Patroness.
