Resumo

The author offers a study on the language and poetry of the mystic Hadewijch of
Antwerp, one of the most prominent representatives of the beguinense movement of
the thirteenth century. Its purpose is to rebuild Christian interiority from the sources
of medieval aesthetics into our present, comparing the mystical words of “overflow”
and “wound” of love and matching them with contemporary language.
