La traducción teatral: una propuesta didáctica para el aula
Keywords:
translation, theatre, theatre translation, dramaturgyAbstract
The practice of theatre translation still sparks conflicting opinions among translation professionals and theater practitioners. Recent studies suggest that the ideal work scenario involves a translator who is deeply embedded in the theatrical world, understands the intended purpose of the translation (whether for reading or performance), and collaborates with those involved in bringing the work to the stage, when necessary. To provide aspiring literary translators with an immersive introduction to the theatre world and simulate real-world scenarios, we propose a method for approaching the translation of theatre plays in the classroom. This method is based on activities conducted before, during, and after the translation process.
