Los viajes a Alemania de Ramiro de Maeztu

Abstract

From the British capital city and for fifteen years, Ramiro de Maeztu wrote hundreds of articles for the Buenos Aires journal La Prensa. Through them, readers were made to travel not only to London but also to other European cities. His trips to Germany between 1911 and 1914 –barely explored for the analysis of Maeztu’s intellectual journey– provide an opportunity to examine his preconceived ideas on what that country represented to him. Furthermore, they contribute to explore how he turned that society into an object of study in order to gain an insight into it and explain its state of preeminence.
