The history of the Mozarab community of the Iberian Peninsula has been addressed from many different perspectives. However, the situation of its women remains scarcely studied. The aim of this paper will be to undertake a preliminary approach to the history of the Mozarab women, their identity and the scope of their action, both under Islamic and Christian law. The premises that guide this analysis are that the Mozarab community had a plastic identity, and that the set of internal and external laws also shaped their possibilities and options.
