La violencia de la palabra : la construcción discursiva de los rebeldes musulmanes en Al- Andalus (ss. VIII-X)

Resumo

The purpose of the work presented below is to approach violence as an aspect of the discursive construction of muslim rebel and rebellion in al-Andalus between the eighth and tenth centuries. In the historical elaborations of social confl icts that marked the construction of Umayyad state, violent episodes infl icted to political rebels are a cliche, but violence as practice is also found explicitly or implicitly in the language used in these speeches. Thus, our analysis will focus on those words that contain positive or negative assessments of the fi gure of the rebel and rebellion in one of the earliest historical chronicles of al-Andalus, the Ta’rīj iftitāh Al-Andalus of Ibn al- Qūtiyya.
