The aim of this article is to analyze the political thoughts of Argentinean Catholics during the 1940’s, a time where concepts such as democracy and liberalism were in the midst of an ideological struggle. In order to understand how such a battle developed, two different cases will be taken into account: on the one hand, a magazine that belonged to the margins of the political discussions, Christian Order (Orden Cristiano); and on the other, one that belonged to the mainstream, Criteria (Criterio). Therefore, during the 1940’s there was a group of catholic intellectuals that could be characterized as exiled, and expressed their ideas through magazines that are described as ideological territories. The understanding of how the intellectual network worked in Christian Order will help to unravel the ideological pattern that was knitted and unknitted in the catholic Argentinean field.Downloads
