La media caña. Su música

Abstract

The media caña, a traditional Rio de la Plata dance, proved validity along the first half of the XIX century. Nowadays a spectacle dance, it is very little what we know about its original music and choreography. It's been throughout the documents that outlasted, various old musical recompilations and some contemporary examples, that we were able to carry out a study of its music, ultimately letting us to make an approach to the original species.
