Abstract

The following article seeks to expose clear examples of the literary influence that Ossian’s writings (translated and published by James Macpherson for the first time in 1760) had on the composers of the Romantic and post-Romantic era, in their creative output through various genres such as instrumental and vocal music, as well as opera.
