Steming from the idea of metaphor, conceived as a meaningful construction that extrapolates meanings from a level to another, it would be reasonable suggest the musical metaphor as a Poetic by itself. The paper would try to ground on this idea its observations on creation, features, style and performing matters of the work for baroque flute and harpsichord ‘Of golden King and silver Lady’ - Suite on ancient folk tunes (2004), from the Argentinean composer Luis Mucillo (1956), by specially focusing on the second piece of the suite (‘Lisa Lan’). This work, in its invention, compositional resources, performing criteria and integration in a recording project, shows strong intertextuality´s features, not only in the musical field and its tradition, but also in the rich literary imagery which allows it to build its meaning.
