Environmental awareness in university students. A study of the hierarchy of Sustainable Development Goals
Keywords:
Environmental Psychology, Sustainable Development, University Students, Pro-Environmental BehaviorsAbstract
The purpose of this paper is to evaluate how university students prioritize sustainable development objectives (SDOs) and the importance they attach to the SDGs related to environmental care; as well as their interest to participate in environmental activities.
The objectives that students consider priorities were in order of rank: quality education, end of poverty, health and well-being, decent work and economic growth, and zero hunger.
Although there is a motivation to participate in pro-environmental activities, when they make decisions the environmental objectives are not sufficiently valued.
The environmental is not a priority for the university students of this sample. Socioeconomic goals are prioritized.
