About the Journal
Focus and scope Sapientia is a periodical journal published every six months by the Faculty of Philosophy and Literature in the Pontifical Argentine Catholic University Santa María de los Buenos Aires. This journal is devoted to philosophical matters, both theoretical and empirical. It has as its primary audience researchers in an academic context. The main topics focus in the areas of medieval, modern, and contemporary philosophy. Articles on theology and history of philosophy, however, will also be considered. Although working primarily in the Aristotelian-Thomistic tradition, the Journal is open to other perspectives, especially those that start a dialogue with the philosophical tradition of the journal.
Peer review process
Each article will be submitted for the consideration and evaluation of two anonymous referees, which are not related to the journal.
In the case of not reaching an agreement, a third opinion will be used to settle the matter.
The journal reserves the right not to publish those articles that do not meet the minimum publication requirements.
Within a maximum period of two months, the Editor will notify the author about referees decisions.
If the opinion is favorable, the estimated publication date for the article will be communicated.
The referees or external evaluators will receive the articles without identifying their author, in order to maintain objectivity and neutral position.
Open Access policy
Sapientia adhiere a la filosofía del acceso abierto a la literatura científica, permitiendo descargar, distribuir, copiar e imprimir su material sin restricciones, asegurando así el cumplimiento de dos objetivos fundamentales:
- Acceso irrestricto a la información, sin barreras económicas, legales o técnicas
- Aumento de visibilidad e impacto de la institución y de sus investigadores

PKP Preservation Network
El contenido de la revista es preservado por la Red de Preservación de PKP (PKP Preservation Network / PKP PN) que proporciona servicios gratuitos de preservación digital para revistas alojadas en Open Journal Systems (OJS) mediante el programa LOCKSS.
LOCKSS & CLOCKSS
Los contenidos son archivados en LOCKSS (Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe) y CLOCKSS (Controlled Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe), a través de su integración con OJS, asegurando un archivo permanente y seguro.
LOCKSS y CLOKSS garantizan la preservación digital de manera descentralizada y distribuida, y aseguran el acceso a largo plazo de los contenidos publicados.

Archivado en el Repositorio Institucional
El contenido de Sapientia se deposita en el Repositorio Institucional de la Pontificia Universidad Católica Argentina asegurando que se realice la verificación de la integridad de los contenidos archivados. Además, se realiza una copia de seguridad en una carpeta master de preservación en la institución.
