The city of Corrientes occupied a periphery and marginal position of the Hispanic Monarchy in the colonial period. Neighbors and habitants of Corrientes developed specifics religious practices but ecclesiastical authorities sometimes bad considered this. This context justified the Visit of Bishop Antonio de la Torre in 1764; he was pretending correct the heretic practices in Corrientes. This paper pretend analyze the celebration of Baptisms and Marries, and Decease practice too, in the context of sacraments rites in the city of Corrientes in the second half of eighteenth century. Moreover the paper analyze the changes and continuities next the Bishop’s Visit in 1764.
