Sylvestre Begnis y la instauración nacional del frondicismo: 1954-1958
Abstract
This investigation analyses the actions of Carlos Sylvestre Begnis and of the leaders of the Intransigence and Renovation Movement of the Unión Cívica Radical (Movimiento de Intransigencia y Renovación de la UCR) from Rosario in the rising importance of this sector in the national direction of the party. In this regard, it outlines his intervention in the districts of Entre Ríos and Córdoba (which were hostile to the figure of Arturo Frondizi) and his positioning as a key player in the establishment of the “Frondicismo” movement in the political scenario of the nation. Likewise, it discusses the creation of the Unión Cívica Radical Intransigente in Santa Fe; the Convention for the Reform of the National Constitution in 1957; the candidacy of Sylvester Begnis for governor of the Province of Santa Fe; and his electoral triumph in February 1958, which set him as an example of the model for development which was established in the Republic of Argentina in those years.
