La promoción industrial durante el peronismo. Impacto y límites de la ley de industrias de interés nacional (1944-1958)

The aim of this article is to analyze the impact of the first system of industrial promotion in Argentina during the post-war years. It is supported that although the law had initially a low impact in the number of the affected establishments and the workforce, from a qualitative point of view promoted the industrial growth especially in chemical and metallurgical branches. This work analyzes the role of the state bureaucracy and of the businessmen in the law implementation. Additionally, the paper evaluates the nature of protected industries, and underlines its limits in order to promote the manufacturing development.
